THE DAWES HERNHILL HERONS JUNIOR FC

The Dawes Hernhill Herons Junior Football Club was first established around 1992. Founding members of the club being local footy fanatics David Brenchley and Bruce Miles. From those first early years the club has always been a forward looking club whilst at the same time providing a safe and supportive environment where local children can learn about football and take part in organised matches.

The Club were pivotal in the establishment of the Faversham and District Friendly Junior Football Series and continue to support the series with teams entered at U8’s, U9’s and U10’s. We have also entered our first 9 a side team in the Faversham and District Friendly Junior Football Series this season at U12′s age group. Actively supporting the recent FA initiative to introduce 9v9 sided football at youth level. The Club also has FA Charter Standard Club Status.

Our facilities are the envy of other local clubs. We have almost exclusive use of the playing fields and changing rooms, a ball per child, enough goals to support four or more separate age based training sessions as well as the usual training aids such as Speed Ladders, Reaction Belts, Mannequins, Step Hurdles and Boundary Poles.

There are over 100 children registered with the club of which most come along and enjoy training on a regular basis. Children are mostly aged between 5 and 12 years old.

For season 2011/2012 we have entered 4 teams into the Faversham and District Friendly Junior Football Series. These teams are at ages U8’s, U9′s, U10′s and U12′s. The Series organise a cup competition for member teams at the U9’s and above age groups. We also continue to expand our presence in the Molten East Kent Youth League and this season we have entered teams at U10′s, U11′s, U13′s and U14′s.

We arrange annual fun social events throughout the year for the Children and their Parents/Carers. More details of the upcoming events are published on the Latest News & Events page on this website.
